I guess back in the day it would have been a little much for them to print it at 3W. Still, I have to wonder if there wasn't some way to recalibrate this a little. I mean this card so desperately wants to be awesome. It hunts dragons!

I have an Aven deck, and my buddy has a Dragon deck. Soulcatchers' Aerie don't work with Baneslayer Angel last time I checked. What card is it that exactly sucks?

I bet most of the people that gave this guy a low rating don't even have protection from Dragons. They have no idea how important it is when you really need it.

@Drewsel: Even in that situation, Baneslayer will still be better. Neither one of them is dying against a dragon deck, so neither one will put a feather counter on the Aerie. And even if you have a couple of feathers on the Aerie from other birds, that'll still just get Dragonstalker up to the same p/t as Baneslayer (who also has first strike and lifelink).

You can't play 4x Baneslayer Angel in Commander. Once Kaalia comes into her own (completely inevitable after the Angel and Demon boost from Avacyn Restored), this will possibly be touted as "Baneslayer #2 in Anti-Kaalia".
Or...people will just play Kaalia. "Screw it. I'm done thinking. TIME TO DESTROY THE EVERYTHING!"
