When WotC took the Lord type away from him and the other Lords, they should have given them new class types. This guy seems like a Shaman or Druid.

Hunting Triad and/or Elvish Promenade work rather well, given that summoning sickness doesn't matter.
Add Quest for Renewal or Awakening and it's almost a strategy. But you'd still be better off just Overrunning.
