Blessing costs twice as much and is activated. Not even close. This card is mediocre, that one is just bad.

+2/+1 would have made this card a whole lot better. Everything is bad compared to Rancor whowever. Just sayin.

serious p/t boosting tends to be expensive in white. this card always served as a nice, cheap way to help a serra angel outmuscle a sengir (provided he didn't have UNholy strength) or quickly promote a white knight early in the game. as for blessing, i'd rather spend the cmc on two of these, and have a creature that keeps me safe for a while, as i continue tapping plains
