why the hell is this rated so low? this card is amazing in my mono black sacrifice deck.
my normal course of action with this is sack bloodghast, trigger mortician beetle, pawn of ulamog and grave pact. And of course I normally draw a land to get bloodghast back.
so I get 2 cards, a +1/+1 counter, an edict, and a spawn token, for just 2 manna.
Now of course this card might not always be that good but for some small creature or one that likes going in the graveyard like sprouting thrinax, academy rector, etc... or something like bloodghast or vengevine that can just come back are a decent trade for 2 life, but most importantly a more easily manageable casting cost over sign in blood.
this card is good cuz it gets you 2 cards cheaply, but can also be used ... (see all)

If anyone knows cause iam new to this game, I show a card Scarscale and the rulings say "If you don't control any creatures, you can't cast Scarscale Ritual", I wonder if this card can be played if you have no creatures to sacrifice.
