There's nothing common with this and Straw Golems ability. This was used in control decks as a blocker whereas Straw Golem was used against creatureless decks. So if normally creatureless deck played against creature deck, they sideboard these in after first match just to destroy the Straw Golems that their opponent sideboarded in.

I love the art, especially in the old frame. Also very good card, at least from a historical perspective. I would still play it today.
