Green tends to tap out a lot, but this is still a nice combat trick, particularly if you splash it from a more controlling color like blue or white. This could ruin the attackers' game if given the right opportunity.

This blocks unblockable creatures.
Fog stops creatures with trample.
This costs a ton.
No thank you.

I think what's most important to note is what's in parenthesis:
"(This spell works on unblockable creatures.)"
Though unblockable may be a tad uncommon,
Blocking anything that has evasion in green (which normally is tough) is solid imho.

Well say hello to my early mana ramp!

Oh? all your creatures are tapped because you wanted to kill me?

In most cases Fog is better. But if they have an army of creatures with one toughness and you have the free mana then this card would really shine. The only time i can see anything like that really happening outside of token decks would be if Aven Mimeomancerhad been sitting on the field for a while.

This is awful. Fog is better and you should play it instead. Why is everyone so caught up on the unblockable thing? Just prevent the damage, it shouldn't matter if they were blocked. This card costs a ton of mana (on your opponent's turn) and doesn't stop anything with trample. Seriously, don't play this because you think its good, it isn't. (If you like it, have fun.)

If for some reason you want things blocked and not just damage prevented (Facing Ninja? No clue.) Then run Fog patch. Its bad, and its still better than this.

You was to kill things? You know what else is great against a bunch of creatures with 1 toughness? A big creature with trample, just run that. If you really want to break color pie and do damage to attackers try Hail Storm. Its not very good, but its better than this. Or just splash white or red. If their creatures are flying you can use actually effective green cards.
