A classic. It protects you from damage, gives you a blocker, lets you use that creature's tap ability twice, ramps your mana with cards like Tolarian Academy, Sol Ring or just Tron. It protects you from counter-spells by tapping out your opponent's last island, you can put it on Scepter to get an Icy Manipulator on crack. It lets you use your artifact again and de-activates artifacts like Winter Orb or Howling Mine. There have been many variations of this card, many of which are a tad stronger. But Twiddle will always maintain its status as the first.
This is probably the worst of the three art pieces for this card. Doesn't make much sense either...changing night to day is an untap/tap action? Guays and the original art were so beautiful though that its hard to compete.

@Jugglingguy: No. They'll tap their land for mana as you play twiddle. They do have a chance to do that before your twiddle goes off.

The flavour of the tap/untap cards often involves changing reality (something I don't like or understand that much either, but there are numerous precedents), so the art is fitting.
Regardless of the art's dubious ties to its effect, I love it. A hole has been ripped in the sky, through which you can see tomorrow (night :P). Or perhaps the atmosphere has been peeled away.
Different art for tap effects pwease. Tapping things does not make it feel as though you are contorting fate itself... I'll think of a suitable alternative when it's not 1:34 am.

This card is infinitely better than Twitch.

Dream's Grip is better. Though the art on this is cooler.

Mirror Gallery.
Krark's Thumb x2.
Tap two islands. Twiddle your thumbs.
This, of course, does nothing. As you'd expect it to.
