The best thing about the card is that it has no need for subtlety. Massive board sweeping at instant speed can be lethal, and that's where this thing shines. And if you happen to kill an opponent in the process, even better. Well-priced for what it does.
And the flavor text is godly.

Jaya Ballard flavor text is why we need her to come back. She was a planeswalker, I'm sure they could make some excuse to bring her back. Chandra just doesn't cut it.

Earthquake is about the same but doesn't hit fliers and is sorcery speed, but you can tune it to only kill the smaller creatures; this is pretty much total destruction all the time. But this card has its uses. I would give it 3.5/5.

@deadeye1387, Whispersilk Cloak wouldn't interact with this at all, since this doesn't target. What you want is something that either gives a ton of toughness, like Slagwurm Armor, or prevents damage, like protection (say, from a Sword of Fire and Ice).
Oh, and it's really simple to tell if something targets (and thus is stopped by shroud): If it says the word "target" on the card, it targets. This doesn't.
