Too much power for the mana cost to be an instant. If it was an instant, it would eather cost 3 or give a smaller pump (eather +2/+0 or +2/+2).

It's a red pump spell that boosts toughness, that's a rare occurence! I'll take it as a sorcery for that reason alone. The only comparable card is Brute Force, but that's timeshifted anyways and won't happen again.

Sorcery speed means this is more of a pseudo evasion + pump then a combat trick. If your opponent has disposable creatures to block with, then this is not that good at all. Unless you got some trample.
