It deserves a 4, in my opinion, because it's only two mana for decent acceleration. However, it's the least useful of the medallions... Green has a million ways to ramp up more efficiently though and would not need this artifact as badly as Blue, for instance.

True, not as useful as the other medallions, but I like the idea of paying only 3 (or 2, or even just G) to cast Argothian Wurm.

The Medallions were and still are quite amazing. Effectively moxen for those of us who can't afford moxes. The green one wasn't as good as the others, simply because green uses alot of 1 mana cards and has little need for a ramp of this kind (cards like Earthcraft and even Llanowar Elf is more useful, usually). But its still a great utility card.

Anyone who has played Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 knows how awesome these medallions are. They should reprint them... probably too good, though, and would potentially enable broken combos in Modern.

This card is actually really awesome. My friend ran a Green Wurm artifact deck and had one of these on turn two. On turn Three he played 3 Nature's Lores and still having all 2 of his lands untapped to play a Copper Myr. Next turn he played a Symbiotic Wurm. To say the least this card works pretty darn well with green mana ramp since it can lower the costs of creatures and the ramp spells themselves. 4.75/5 for solidness.

I don't know. I think the "Green doesn't need Artifacts for mana" is a bad argument.

These are some cards I think are fair:

Sol Ring
Primeval Titan (though I do wish it said "Basic", or listed "Mountain or Forest", or qualified in some way to prevent it getting some certain troublesome nonbasic lands).
Armageddon
Worldfire
Balance

Although its true they can all be abused, they also all are easy and obvious enough to metagame around. I think that if Green wants to be the color of "Happy-Go-Lucky-Look-it-Me! I Have Billions of Land!", then it is equally righteous and just to allow some powerful Land Destroyers to be floating around to deflate it if it gets degenerate. LD should be treated like Counterspells: every individual card in the two categories, even Strip Mine and Force of Will, is actually *BY NATURE* fair, because they stop "Pow... (see all)

Mana accel and cost reduction are two very different things. Dropping one of these on T2 instead of a mana search spell will not necessarily set you back. By T3 you will be able to cast dawntreader elk, sac it, cast caravan vigil and then play rampant growth. T4 you have 7 mana out and can drop a Terrastodon because of the discount.
