Affinity broke the entire tournament scene in Mirrodin block. Everyone could build decks all of a sudden that would win in 2 turns every time. I'm glad they didn't bring it back in Scars, but thats not going to stop me from continuing to use my Dross Golems :)

Very useful card essentially its a mana cost of 0 mid game, and a 3,2 tugger with fear for 0 mana is the RIGHT cost.

Running this guy alongside beasts like Nightmare Lash and Lashwrithe make for Mono-Black Arti-Party. This card has given me success in Mirrodin drafts back in the day and is an overall pretty solid card. I'm a fan.

I've found some use for this in Mono-black Ninja. He's afraid of mirrors, though.

Really cool concept... I like how you can *almost* cast him with just two swamps out. Then the third swamp just needs to sit there, as at that point he will only cost {2} to cast. It's almost like he costs 2.5 mana, a 2-drop that requires a third land in play before you can cast it.

Part of a cycle of golems from Darksteel, each with Affinity:

White Razor Golem (vigilance)
Blue Spire Golem (flying)
Black Dross Golem (fear)
Red Oxidda Golem (haste)
Green Tangle Golem (no ability, just big)

These seem to be the successors of Mirrodin's unremarkable cycle:

White Titanium Golem (first strike)
Blue Cobalt Golem (flying)
Black Pewter Golem (regenerate)
Red Hematite Golem (+2/+0)
Green Malachite Golem (trample)

This is a nice evasive creature that can quickly get out of hand if not dealt with promptly. Obviously best in mono-black decks and those featuring Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, it's also awesome in limited and can put a lot of pressure on your opponent. As a fun side-effect, it isn't a dead draw defensively either, and can block oppos... (see all)
