What is it in this game with torture devices and hand size?

The tempest "vise" counterpart to Scalding Tongs.

For that cost?
You can continuously ping the other player. Every bit helps!

@count_dorku: From the get go there have been two archetypes of decks: Ones that empty their hand as soon as possible and others that keeps their hand as full as possible all the time. These cards are hosers and enablers for those tactics.

Dorku, he wasn't questioning the mechanics. He was wondering why all torture devices seem to depend on hand size, and vice versa.

Love the artwork even though I don't quite get the flavor. Back when, this card could have been playable even in constructed.

This was horrible to face in a control deck. They'd sit there with their hand all full of counterspells and Whispers of the muse and Capsize and you'd suffer.
