Hoses most small token decks and can be a good sideboard tech with Godhead of Awe.

In Tempest limited, a fair number of decks would run lots of little 2/x Shadow guys, a threat Watchdog ameliorated very nicely. However, you'd also see your share of decks running big green beasts that would simply squash this guy flat the first time they got to attack; Trained Armodon was ubiquitous and could take Watchdog out simply by attacking solo (though this would usually be a trade, since obviously you gang-block it if you can). So sometimes he'd be almost your MVP and sometimes he'd be almost irrelevant. Still, if nothing else he's a more interesting than average card.

This card is mysterious...
Is that a dog?
Can a stone watch?
What was WotC thinking when it printed the picture?

Took me a pretty long time to notice this pun, despite having read The Phantom Tollbooth.
