Decent, but I'd still prefer the ravnica undercity shade 9/10 times, since big creatures without avoidance are just block fodder.

He's okay, but generally you just want to make a "shade" creature bigger than whatever is blocked by or blocking it, so regeneration seems iffy. Ah well, it deters direct damage and removal that allows for regeneration.

Well, you can throw it in your graveyard to give two nice abilities to your Necrotic Ooze...

This works well against those creatures that have lower toughness than powor.

I think many people underestimate just how powerful regeneration is. If you wanted him in blue/black control, imagine having an invincible blocker after turn 5 that has the possibility to kill anything that comes his way.
Still, not saying I would play him

The regen helps you save mana against lopsided power/toughness creatures, I.E. 5/3's cost you 3 mana instead of 6; 4/2's cost you 2 mana instead of 5, 3/2s cost you 2 instead of 4, etc...

Conditionally useful and dangerous. I would've preferred him at {B}{B}{1} or something though. Shades honestly should just be as color heavy as possible given that their abilities already encourage that. They're already markedly inefficient (as they're mana sinks) so it'd be nice if they treated their cost that way.

That said, I know they're powerful; but knowing when to pay and when not to can be a big deal. If your opponent is unwilling to block you should often consider instead playing a spell unless you're getting close to the end game or they're countering what you cast. These are three reasons Nantuko Shade is so good. Efficient cost due to color-weight, 2 power so if he's not blocked he's still a reasonable bit of damage, and the combinations of these make him end up as ... (see all)

Better than most shades, which will cost this much for something as relatively useless as Swampwalk. Still has the "Shade" ability of pumping itself. Regeneration means it can spot block or survive being blocked and likely take down whatever it hit. Still a pretty bad card though, given its high cost. Pretty forgettable. 2/5.

Hm...Regeneration to boot? it IS better than most Shades :)

But most Shades are awful and to be good this needs Shadow or Swampwalk or Flying :/

Eventually I hope they make a Horrible Thing of Death that is Darkness personified.

It will be a Shade Wraith Specter and be glorious ^_^
