Fetchlands are a bolt because they paid 1 life for it, Mode.
Best card to use with this is Bitter Ordeal. They will shuffle a lot of times for just 3 mana.

Wow, this thing is a bomb against the meta in my region... tons of Fetch Lands and library manipulation. For a measley 2CC, this thing is fantastic. You can also plan mana acceleration without library fixing, so your deck can cruise along while they are getting hammered.

My friend would hate me if I played this against his Rebel deck. Also, whenever someone cracks a fetchland, it's a lightning bolt to the face.

Vasty underrated, in Type 1 and Legacy especially. Fetch lands become Lightning Bolts and if you have multiple Probes in play, things get crazy. Also, try it with Soldier of Fortune!

Why are you all talking about Lightning Bolts? If anything, it's a Shock.
Although i agree, this card is underrated regarding the vast use of fetchlands in Eternal formats, tutors in general and its combo potential with cards like Soldier of Fortune,
Maralen of the Mornsong (when used properly), and Myr Mindservant (for block-cunstructed).
The huge drawback of this card is nontheless that it also affects you.

I think this can be broken in Legacy. I only looked up the card after a long ass time because I'm getting tired of drawn out games because of sensei's divining top. Also, Mode, who was saying "why are people saying it's a lightning bolt" and not shock? Well, that's simple. Pay 1 life to sac and 2 damage from probe = 3 damage or a bolt to the face. Makes sense, right?

I'm thinking about putting one of these into my Eternal Dominion deck. It's a deck all centered around playing Eternal Dominion, getting as many copies of it right off the bat (so I have that many instances of Epic running per upkeep), and getting as many upkeeps as possible (thank you, Paradox Haze). However many instances of Eternal Dominion I target someone with means that they take twice as much damage to their life.
