This card is so nostalgic I nearly died from the rush of memories. This is one card where art, rules text, flavor text, and even the style of the card border and text border work in perfect sync. I miss this look...and I'm not sure if I'm any longer happy about the style change with Mirrodin.

Heh Magic Nostalgia is one thing I'm VERY good with... I started playing in very early 1994, and I still remember opening up my Revised Starter Decks, or my Arabian Nights boosters, and seeing cards that were simply amazing, and looked good. I miss the old cards.... The way they looked, even the smell, was awesome. If you ever buy yourself a Revised Starter Deck (Which you can still get for around 60 dollars) open it up and SMELL it. It smells very neat for some reason. But anyway, this is one of my all time favorite cards.

I'd forgotten how cool "Summon Enchantress" was, until I read the Oracle text and felt a pang of dismay.

Yeah, I miss the classic fantasy inspiration as well. Green used to be more about faeries and woodsy kind of stuff. Hoperfully we won't have another generic beasts phase. Satyrs and centaurs will do just fine.

Wow. I think this is the first time I've ever come across a set of comments for a card, and agreed with every single one of them. (as of this writing, 10-04-2013)
Yes, we're all kindered spirits here. I wonder if we ever met at a Magic tournament at some point in 1994-95.
I had the old Collector's Edition set during my younger years, and I spent hours entranced by the artwork. I was particularly stunned by the artwork for Kev Brockschmidt's Verduran Enchantress. It was cards like that which drew me into the game. There hasn't been any art in M:tG with that kind of beauty in a great while. Yes, while looking through this Collector's set, I could tell by the amazing artwork, and the graceful way the cards interacted with one another, with the sensible, down-to-earth wording, that I was going to really enjoy this game. For me, the Alpha/Beta/Unlimited edition will always be true Magic.
@ LateralisOne - you're not the only one who didn't like the "Pokemon Star-Trek" style change that cam... (see all)
