Neutralion's right, hes a Lord, having started a rebellion against the evincars of Rath that spawned over into Dominaria, not to mention in spite of having suffered tremendously at the hands of the phyrexians, having his only heir taken away and re-made into a lens for the phyrexians study.
The title Lord of Leaves is reflected in his forest walk ability, his shroud is fitting as it is representative of the difficulty the rathian forces have at locating the rebels and their homes, offered by the skyshroud canopy.
Hail Eladamri, I hope they reprint one of the greatest heroes of the times.
2 manna for a 2/2 base is pretty good. lets work from there...

Great for elf decks considering most elvish abilities are mas$ effect and not targeting individual elves. Oh, and this doesn't negate Coat of Arms' ability because it is also a mas$ effect ability.

Target is "local" , battlefield is "global". Hit-all's can still effect them (Wrath of God, Evacuation) Global abilities may seem targeted, but a shroud can still be picked out (Whitemane Lion). Notice it doesn't say "TARGET creature you control."

Even though this card has really good effects I believe that it would also benefit an opponent who also uses an elf deck

@Neolexus When this was printed, "Legend" was a creature type in its own right, and because of the "summon" formatting, it was the only type the creature could have; cards like Mirri, Cat Warrior or Crovax the Cursed would say things like "counts as a X". As such, this never gave itself shroud or forestwalk.

Shroud, not Hexproof, sadly. So if you want to slap a Blanchwood Armor or Alpha Status on that Treetop Scout or that Heedless One, be wary.
But what do you want? 2 drop!

What are you talking about? This card is amazing. I'll admit that forestwalk isn't typically practical, but the shroud ability can be downright cruel for the opponent. When you think about it, most elves (except for tokens) will have a key function in the battlefield: Elvish Champion and Imperious Perfect give all your elves +1/+1, Wellwisher and Rhys the Exiled gain you massive amounts of life, and Rhys the Redeemed and Elvish Promenade make a lot of tokens. So when one of those key creature that you conrol dies, it can have a negative impact on the rest of your game. But if your elves are shrouded then the only thing you have to worry about are Wrath of God effects, which equally hurt the opponent. This lord rightfully deserves a 4/5, not a pitiful 2.5/5.

I'm a little confused on this one, could someone please set me straight. The card states that "Elves have shroud" and the oracle states that this card is a elf warrior, but the oracle also states the text feild says "Other elves". Does this mean that Eladamri also has shroud??? If this is true then 5 out of 5 for me.

To make more use of forest walk play lush growth on opponents land. As for the shroud, this card is very awesome, but still a volcanic fall out target or a lavalanche target. I can't imagine an opponent will see this and not immediately start looking for ways to take it off the field. Otherwise, probably the best low mana elf for an elf deck.
