Geez, that's the most devious-looking dog I've ever seen...

Together they can take down something big, but they're easily broken apart. Separately, however, they still have the ability to fight. Flavorful.

What I don't really understand is why it isn't four toughness before it dies, but it is afterward. I understand that Sprouting Thrinax is very strong even in three colors and that they can't make 1/0.25 tokens, but it still seems off somehow.

These aren't very good in practice, at least in the burn festival that was standard at the time.

Makes me really want some creature cards that represent multiple creatures without tokens, something similar to the old phantom creatures. I.E. a 0/0 with 3 +1/+1 counters with "whenever this would be destroyed, instead remove a +1/+1 counter from it. When it has no +1/+1 counters on it, sacrifice it."
Still, nice and flavorful. Quite like that it's a pack.

@ blurrymadness
The closest thing I can think of for that is something like Thopter Squadron, though that uses tokens as well as counters.
