Painter's Servant could be fun with this and Yawgmoth's Edict.

Probably the worst of the sideboard/hoser cycles in Tempest. And still not that bad. Really Havoc ruins white-weenie decks. It'll usually get off 4-6 damage before it gets disenchanted. Even the disenchant will do 2 damage. But, unfortunately, white is the best at destroying enchantments...

Eight-and-a-Half-Tails wouldn't help. If the spell is black in hand, it will be black when cast. The Kitsune can only help once the spell has been cast, making it white upon resolution. Havoc's ability won't trigger when it's cast.

I can't remember red being a color that ever directly caused lifeloss rather than damage, especially when having such a heaty artwork.
However, as kitsunewarlock stated, this card is still a decent sideboard choice.
Talking about Kitsune, Eight-and-a-Half-Tails can do a good job if you want to ensure the lifeloss.

Well, Magical Hack could work...

Or just play it against White decks. :P
And it's insane by today's standards, because it's a RED card that causes LIFE LOSS, and Red NORMALLY uses DAMAGE. They're different according to the rules, and the cards that have since been developed to fight Red Decks normally do so by assuming Red is causing Damage, not Life Loss.
It's probably still not going to beat your friend's Kor Firewalker deck, but it's an effective Color Hoser that helps it against a relevant matchup and still manages to feel not like a kick to the groin because White has Enchantment Removal.
I like it. :)
