This one time I was hired in Tripoli as a mercenary to capture a renegade French Foreign Legion colonel; I decided to infiltrate their ranks and smuggle him out in a stolen deux cheveaux, but they were all wearing these tan and brown checkered pants and I don't wear tan and brown checkered pants. So I drew my pistols and said "Stand and Deliver, or the Devil he may take you!" They denied of course, shot my several times and I barely survived as a POW... But at least they never got me into tan and brown checkered pants.

I'd pay 5 for a 3/3 first striker in red anyways, that it has an upside is just gravy.

He is not great but I always liked this guy and regretted it when he lost his soldier subtype.
I guess he makes a good team with Lovisa Coldeyes now.

I played this card a lot in those days, and I loved it!
Very balanced and effective. There isn't much else to say, it's just a plain aggro creature. They could have reprinted it in Mirrodin Besieged with the Battle Cry keyword...
4.5/5

Why is his ability not just oracled to "Battle Cry"? The wording is exactly the same.
