It's not that bad, coming into play untapped. But there is no combo powerful enough to really make this worth something. You could just play it in a multiplayer deck and tap other players artifacts to force them to use that artifacts ability when you want to, not when they want to.
Or you can play artifacts with "if this is untapped" abilities, like howling mine, and tap them when you want to. So sure: there are combos for this card, they just ain't powerful.

I worked this one out (So I think right now) Blinkmoth Well coupled with Genesis Chamber will keep opponent from gaining any unpaid creatures... Most effective in a Myr type setup.

A land that provides mana, doesn't come in tapped, and can be used to tap an opponent's artifact OR your own (Font of Mythos=2 card advantage every turn), and noone knows what to do with it?!

I threw this into my Liquimetal Coating deck on a whim, and the very first game it saved my life by tapping down an opponent's mountain during their upkeep and delaying their 7 CMC spell by a turn. Amazing that it comes into play untapped, and in an artifact heavy deck, the colorless-ness is not a liability.
