Ganryu, ANYBODY can make a deck to defeat a specific color. We can thank all the color hosers for this (Karma, Gloom, Flashfires, Lifeforce, Deathgrip, etc.). Magical Hack and Sleight of Mind are the 2 ways to protect against them.

Play Karma alongside Tamanoa and Urborg, Tomb to Yawgmoth. You don't take damage from Karma, and you are going to be reaping a lot of life.

Considering this is a remnant of the "evil is black" deal they used to have, I'm surprised it got reprinted. Plus color hate this strong was also pretty far in the past by the time 8th edition came into being. Truly an enigma.

A friend of mine has built a white deck specifically for the purpose of defeating black decks. Most of the meta-game around where he used to play consisted of black decks. It has Circle of Protection: Black, Order of Leitbur etc.
One large part of that deck: Karma.
I challenged myself in building a primarily black deck to defeat it. I splashed blue for Magical Hack. Let's just say that he found a use for Disenchant on his next turn that he probably didn't expect.

Did the Wizards really think their new players were getting so dumb they had to be reminded precisely what the upkeep is? I'm surprised they didn't stop there with their reminder text:
--Tap (Tapping is when you turn a card sideways)
--Draw a card (Pick up a card off the top of your deck and put it in your hand. Make sure the front of the card is facing you, so your opponent can't see what it is.)
--Breathe in and out (Expand your lungs and allow them to fill with oxygen, or you'll stop living)
--Walls still can't attack. Loser.
