Although my inner Johnny regrets the loss of some little combos doable with the old wording,
I praise Wizards for this nicely changed Oracle wording that came up with the Grand Creature Type Update - which was a quite awesome update in general in my opinion.
This card serves as a good example how the flair of a name concept can be kept while not being forced to create a new extraordinary creature type for the tokens, which unfortunately happened a bunch of times.
In this case, the tokens are now Insects, but even so, other Insects won't be affected by the destruction effect from this card since it still targets the Wireflies they continued to be.
I hope the same happens to Sengir Autocrat someday as well...

You would not believe your eyes,
If Ten Million Wireflies,
Combo'd With Krark's Thumb and Voltaic Key
I'd like to make myself belieeeeeeve
that Mirrodin wasn't Broooooken
It's hard to play when you always lose close to turn 3
Cause modular is winning religiouslyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
(Yeah, I spent 10 minutes of my life doing this)

Just use unnatural selection or something similiar to turn annoying creatures into wireflies. Then it's either "3, t: get a fine 2/2 flying token" or "3, t: destroy all creatures you dislike".

I have actually used the good old combo with Krark's thumb, but my Insect tokens still died left and right. Yeah, yeah, I've said that before.

Well, this is better than The Hive, at least. The Hive is just a depressing case, though I guess it is excusable, given its age.
