I'd like it more with 2 toughness or even as a one-drop.
Like that it's just meh...i'd preferably play Welding Jar, especially since it helps getting out Affinity cards.

In DDM draft, this was king. It might not be powerful now, but it was back when the power-level of creatures in general was lower. It had evasion on a cheap creature, and, being non-artifact, dodged the bulk of the most prevalent removal spells. Slap this in a deck with a few decent equipments and go to town. As an added bonus, it could save any of your large beaters in a snap.

A two drop common, that gives you a white flier for swinging or blocking, with a useful sac ability in a block chock-full of artifacts. Also, a spirit, which means it could still synergize well with the following Kamigawa block. A solid, low-power card. I think people might be being a bit harsh.
