ClockworkSwordFish: The creature in the art looks like a Tetravus.
This is actually pretty weird as in the same set they printed Pentavus as a replacement.

It is a shock that only targets creatures. Sure it is capable against artifact creatures but that doesn't come up often enough to make this card playable outside of the block (especially not with lightning bolt as an option).

@Drecon
I always thought it was Skyreach Manta, but looking again they aren't so similar anymore.

Against artifact creatures, this is strictly better than Flame Slash.

COMPARE
Its not better or Worse then shock and flame slash isnt better or worse than it. Not even Lightning Bolt is better or worse.
Flame slash=Sorcery... but 4 damage.
Shock=Only Deals 2 damage...but to a player too!
Lightning Bolt Deals 3 damage...but to a player too!
If and ONLY if your opponent was playing an all artifact creature deck would this be better then Flame slash.
This card WOULD be better then shock if this could deal damage to a *player*.
Galvanic Blast is better ONLY when your playing with an artifact deck.

Would be considerable with Mycosynth Lattice, but waiting for 6 mana to make this card interesting is kinda weak. By the time you get it in play, the opponent might also be down to five lives or so and you could just spend the same mana for burn spell.
Although hitting a creature for 2 isn't actually that bad, the missing option to finish opponent makes me a very sad panda.
