clerics that can prevent 2 damage are usually strong in limited. This is no exception. Shines in casual games.

I've always had a hard time getting these damage mitigators to pull their weight. But then again, my friends always used black when I was younger so maybe I've never given them a fair shake.

Compare to sanctum custodian. For one more {1}, you get a +1/+1 bonus. In terms of mana cost I probably would prefer the custodian, especially if I'm running Mentor of the Meek, but I definitely dig this card, especially in a cleric tribal deck. Yet, Master Apothecary makes most clerics with similar ability look like garbage. I'd definitely take this one though for the boost in toughness and theme redundancy, tossing one or, perhaps, two into the deck.
