I have used this plus energy chamber to gain hundreds of life in a multiplayer game and successfully survive a double-teaming. It's an amazing card if you plan on the game going for a while.

@KrosanGardner if you can make a good sunburst deck. which obviously you are unable to. you can get this out turn 3 or so with all five counters on it.

Pretty good. There are a lot of good combos, especially with proliferate.

dismantles best friend,
Had a gemstone array with 40 counters on it, then dismantle came along, then I had a clearwater goblet with 45 counters on it

I can't really see myself using this in regular decks, casual or not, but I do want it for my five-colour EDH, either way. In multiplayer it's great.

this is really only good in a 5 color deck, but otherwise, it's fairly good

Heh heh. You may.
You can't make me gain 5 life! I do what I want!

KrosanGardener is so wrong haha continual lifegain is applicable almost always. Think about it. At the very least it basically Pacifies a fatty. If you're playing your deck right, they aren't hitting you for more than five anyway. Even five is kind of a lot...
