I can't believe no one has mentioned this, but in EDH, you could counter the opponent's general and put it on the bottom of their library!

I was surprised at how many time I choose the 'top of library' option. it's lead me to believe lapse of certainty will probably be played in standard as well...

Either ruins their next draw, or guarantees that card won't show up again for a while. Surprisingly more effective than Counter for that very reason. There are times you just don't want their cards in their graveyard.
Jury's still out on whether it's superior to Dissipate, but overall I'm thinking this is one of my favorite counterspells of all time.

Better than Cancel. Yes, your opponent gets the spell back, but you just made them waste their next draw.

Like memory lapse, but if you dont like the other person's card, it goes away for almost forever.

I love this card--effing with someone's draw pick is the best, making them waste a turn essentially.

One of the most balanced counter-magic spells in the game.

Played a good tempo game with Remand while the two were in standard.
