Ahh, I remember this guy. He went right into my green-white deck, my first ever. Go on, I say. I dare you to block me! Happy times.
Haven't put him in another deck since. Sad times.

I like it, solid for a 1 drop, although not as good as the hound it at least trades w/ it and isn't legendary. Also gains from samurai tribe

Probably my favorite one drop, though I'm not sure it's on par with the old Basking Rootwalla.
Go ahead and judge me. I've always had a special place in my heart for Samurai.

Solid. A solid one drop with a useful creature type.
Exactly what I expect from my commons.

4/5 stars for not being a vanilla 1/1
Unfortunately, 1 damage is hardly a threat to get hit with. But drop Honor of the Pure turn 2 and your rolling.
This is a stronger opener then T1 Elite Vanguard T2 Honor, in my opinion, because he does not trade with Runeclaw Bear.

I keep two of these guys in my white samurai deck. Drop Indomitable Will on him second turn and you've got yourself a 2/3 for 3 CMC and since he's a samurai he's buffed by Takeno and Nagao, so by mid game he's gonna be a 4/5 when attacking and if he's blocked he's a 5/6. Don't ever underestimate this guy.
