Unless I'm mistaken Pearl Medallion doesn't affect buyback.
Memory Crystal does though.

Pearl Medallion reduce the total cost of a white spell, which is {3}{W} in this case, so it would reduce it to {2}{W}.

I always thought it looked like Karn was missing his left arm and leg in this picture. I'm not sure how they would be both obscured from view with this perspective, but there you go.
