"that they forget like this made up a fair part of the block." I for one didn't forget. In fact I believe cards like this make up a large chunk of every MtG expansion. (and why I don't have a favorite set) But Mirrodin block is a particularly good example of this.

@ chives5602

This card has no direct interactions with modular cards, since this doesn't give +1/+1 counters and the counters on your modular creatures can't actually put their useless counters on them (+1/+1=/=charge counters) I have to assume you usually play this as a 3 colored mana Giant Growth.

I know a better card for what it seems you use it for, Giant Growth, if you are using other cards to keep it charged up then this is somewhat better, although you used up 2 different cards to have a +1/+1 effect for each turn you have

If your decks are so good, this must never give more than +3/+3, since you most likely win at turn 3

People get so caught up in the insane broken cards from Mirrodin that they forget crap like this made up a fair part of the block.

That's pretty bad. Realistically, you can get 3 or so +1/+1 counters in a pinch. There are better artifacts, better artifacts by far.

I've had the displeasure of using this card in the past. It doesn't matter if you're running a five-color deck, using up three separate colors of mana for a crappy card will do nothing but hinder you. It's not a surprise! Your opponent can see it's on the field! Not worth the dime it took to make it.

has potential if you pair it with a counter manipulating card

Have any of you people played with a sunburst/modular deck? I'm guessing none of you idiots have. This on a card with modular means it never really goes away. I would love to play with a bunch of you morons with this card. I think allot of you don't know how to play certain cards. That's why you think they suck.

Sunburst, or how to make crappy mechanics

Re: Icefang vs.Chives PWNED!

I see Sunburst as alot like Hellbent. It could have been a much better idea, and some cards with it were pretty good. But there were too many substandard cards for a deck to become focused on Hellbent or Sunburst. I occasionally run an etched Oracle or Pentad prism in an artifact deck and Demonfir and the Pit Dragon are really awesome Rakdos cards, but that's about it.

*Shrugs* Like most Sunburst cards, it's not the best of cards. In fact I'd call this downright ineffecient. But it's far, far from terrible, guys. Remember you can drop this and use it to your heart's content, and anything that can recharge it can make for a nifty combat trick stick.
Aside from that, yeah, it's pretty underwhelming. Maybe if it had been +2/+2 it would have been superior to the eighteen billion +1/+1 counter generating things in the block, but I digress.
