Like Mattmedia said, Fling doesn't pump Kiln Fiend because it's an additional cost, not "as this card is cast" or whatever.

Fling one of these babies after combat;
Zektar Shrine Expedition
Ball lightning
Elemental Appeal
Act of Treason
Mark of Mutiny
Traitorous Instinct

or even this one if you are desperate:
Devastating Summons

Interesting concepts with M11 around the corner. You'll be able to Fling the Legendary Eldrazi.

@gcilley
No it doesn't, Kiln Fiend is already gone by the time you've finished casting Fling. It won't get pumped. Learn the rules before you act like you know them.

I disagree that it would work with kiln fiend, because as an additional cost to casting fling, you have to sacrifice a creature, so you can't cast fling until its full cost is paid for.

anyhoo, i guess you could put two bolts on someones head then fling a kiln fiend for the win.

I hope this does come out in M11, because i think it will make thought gouger. Bloodghast, Reassembling skeleton for hand fodder, and if he gets killed before you get fling, then you get to draw a new hand. In this deck it would make Sarkhan the mad extra evil, sac one of the little graveyard creatures, swing with flying dragon, fling for the win.

although in mentioning this, i would assume that it would make this card pretty good at the moment, with all the removal around, why not bash your opponent with it.

@theelk801: Yes, because, as the oracle text states, sacrificing a creature is an ADDITIONAL COST. That means you sacrifice the creature before the spell is technically "cast"

This is a really fun card. It goes well with Spellwild Ouphe (although Fling's casting cost is not reduced.). But I use Orcish Lumberjack to generate quick mana... Might of Oaks + Fatal Frenzy (or Berserk if you have them) + Fling! Third turn 36 damage :) (fill the deck with other things like Bloodlust and Giant Growth for maximum effect hehe.

Hey, I know. Let's fling Mossbridge Troll.

Have a vintage combo deck that does nothing for about 3 or 4 turns except play; artifact lands, Howling mines, Shield sphere and if need be a spellbook. Then, when its ready, I drop a TON of 0 cost artifacts and an atog, sac everything and fling it. Pact of negation and grapeshot for backup.
