YES. Royal Assassin is MUCH better. Usually.
I've used this guy with DISGUSTING results in casual multiplayer. though. Grave Pact
anyone? Sometimes it's good to be able to get rid of your own stuff. (Abyssal Persecutor)

Solid repeatable removal that swing for 2 in a pinch. Plus, he's a Zombie!

For those saying this combos with Grave Pact: not in duels. The Grave Pact trigger resolves first, so your opponent can just sac the creature you've targeted with the assassin's ability.

This is the old art , fortress came out before Magic seventh edition.
