Should be reprinted. As uncommon. No other color-change card has been as good as the laces (although I have a fondness for Sylvan Paradise).

The point was that it is a horrible card to get in your rare slot, regardless of whether you're playing Limited or Constructed. Granted, it would also be a waste of an uncommon slot or a common slot, and with either of those Limited would be flooded with relatively useless Laces, and Constructed players would have ridiculous quantities of them in their collections.

I think these should be reprinted as uncommon as well...in some sort of "color matters" block. Specifically, a "color actually really matters" block.

according to the gatherer community, this card is the worst magic card ever. even worse than razor boomerang. I think not good sirs. I think that some people were just butthurt when they got this in their beta booster packs.

No way Jose. Too niche card to be anything else but rare.

Good comment. What if, like Sylvan Paradise, it could have multiple targets, spells and permanents, and the effect lasted until the end of the game? Would that be enough incentive to play it? Would it be too powerful? Too hard to keep track of? Would a Darkest Hour cycle even make sense? Or do they just call that Painter's Servant?
