I see potential for this in the sideboard of one of my decks, I have a black/green deck that has a lot of problems dealing with white, I can use this in conjunction with Stromgald Cabal which would allow me to counter real threats and let the lesser threats gain me life

it's not just one life, it's a two-life difference that can fuel some black life sac.
i guess it would make nice sideboard material if you go up against a white life gain, as it would allow you to last a bit longer, while still keeping them held down some.

@ divine_exodus

Due to wording and rule changes over the years as the game has grown and evolved, these now mean the same thing. The easiest way to think of it is "when an opponent puts a white spell on the stack, this triggers." It does not trigger on resolution, and will resolve before the effect which triggered it. No saving yourself with Healing Salve at one life!

Between the effect and Xantcha's commentary, it would appear that Yawgmoth would be appalled at Elesh Norn's mere existence...Although I do wonder if, had he known of them, Yawgmoth would be even more enamored of the Eldrazi than of anything related to black mana. Not much purer than they...

One day I'll make a Glamerdye-based deck for stuff like this. Painter's Servant has been said, but with something that mental far nastier things can be done.

This goes well with Painter's Servant.

1 life at a time just seems too slow.

Then run four of these.

The oracle reads: "cast a white spell" and the card reads "successfully cast a white spell"
