Ugh. This is the worst of the Runes of Protection because blue is inherently the least scary when it comes to doing damage. The Rune cycle itself isn't so great just because the Circles of Protection can be splashed while these can't, but this card would be questionable even in a sideboard.

Doesn't help that this is one of the Runes that look more like an artifact then an enchantment. Blue does get unblockable creatures and the Islandwalk/'Target Land is an Island' combo, so this isn't useless, but yea, not as usefull as Lantern of Protection: Red and the other Runes.

I run a full set of runes in my Cycling deck, because I am able to cycle the runes as many times as I can slide my Monk Idealist.

It could be used with Painter's Servant in order to prevent any kind of damage. This card is anti-blue creatures, changing all red stuff into blue spells makes this an anti-red card.
