@Lunarblade: Woah there, that is not a Tendrils of Corruption this targets players making it very powerful in mono-black. This and Sanguine Bond make for one devastating combo, a minimal 18 life swing in mono-black.

This art is wicked! I want a late 80s early 90s cartoon inspired core set!

Playing mono black, this has been a gamechanger for me and a great fallback in case somebody hoses me with something vile like Light of Day.

Probably my most popular finisher. Whenever I hit someone with this, the game shifts. Tendrils of Corruption is a nice instant variant, but the lack of player hitting and the fact that this mechanics scales with the game makes Corrupt superior in my book.

Strange to see a balanced card from the urza block.

Love the fact that this is common. Late-game finisher if you need it, but also a way to kill black creatures if required. Unlike Drain Life, you'll gain life equal to the damage dealt, instead of just the creature's toughness. And knowing you have a few Corrupts in your deck means you feel a curious sense of malicious glee every time you play a Swamp, even when you don't need the extra mana.

Urza's Saga always has the best art of cards that have been reprinted since then.
