Morphling is no longer the offensive juggernaut it was, but Superman is more than just an offensive juggernaut. It never was a one-trick pony.
1) Ability to untap to many is just vigilance, but it combos with many other cards in the game. Anything requires multiple tapping or an untap creatures could use this ability. Quicksilver Dagger, for example, Morphling could pew pew better than any Sphinx.
2) Shroud keeps Morphling neigh unkillable, and since it's not a permanent shroud it's pretty much like a semi-hexproof, allow you to enchant or equip it, a benefit sets Superman aside from other shroud creatures.
3) Ability to block almost any creature, with old rules you could kill attackers without dying. While its offense is dampened, Morphling's blocking power never fails, it can still attack and untap itself for defense.
People are right when they say Morphling is no longer as powerful, damaged by both M10 rules and power creeping, but that doesn't make it weak. It deserves at least... (see all)

Superman? Superwoman? It's appropriately ambiguous, actually.

GOOD LORD. so many people 'meh its not so great' if i had to count how many times this guy has trounced me i'd never get done. here is a little hint: if EVER you see THAT many usable ability on ONE CARD run.
did someone seriously just say they'd prefer to play Serra Sphinx to this? freakin belltower sphinx? you go right ahead, as for me, i like to win. Sphinx of Jwar Isle is at least a respectable fatty, but that's all he is.
(wait... i thought they decided YEARS ago reasonably price blue fatties were a no-no?)

The guy was best with the old combat damage rules. You could turn him into a 5/1 when damage was assigned. And if he got blocked, you could also turn him into a 0/X creature to have him survive. So he was basically a 5/X flyer with shroud. That could untap.
With the new combat damage rules though... he's still good, but not as good anymore.

Less effective without combat damage on the stack, but Superman still rules.
