Does anyone else think that rock looks a little suggestive?

Nope. That's just your sick 21st century mind playing tricks on you. Blame it on the enzymes in the beef.

"...but you must take all of it." Man I love the old printed text. Especially when combined with Storm_Crow0's comment.

As for the card, I guess you can use it to protect a prized creature. Kind of expensive to cast for that kind of effect, and if you're going to do this, make sure the creature will win you the game.

Funny if the damage is then redirected again via Pariah to some other creature. Yep, all the damage will go there, so long as you have the mana.

Use with Negator, instant speed blockers, deathtouch creatures (because they normally do piddly damage), you can use it to prevent damage your creatures would do, if for some reason that would be a bad thing. Useful against Provoke, you can also use it to screw people's combats in multiplayer to help achieve a board state you desire.

Also, consider using it with things like death pits of rath, no mercy, or against multiple blockers (so they lose all their blockers but you trade some health to save your guy.)

The field of application is much wider than one would imagine, especially with Storm_Crow0's comment.
