Probably why it's banned

Doesn't every card ever have "If your opponent does not immediately concede..."
Because conceding is faster than instants, I'm sure. So when you play anything ever, they can concede immediately, and the card won't resolve.

@Kurraga - It's banned due to the fact that it mentions the ante. All of the cards in the game that mention ante are banned, due to the connotation of gambling.

One of the only cards that I can think of that makes almost every opponent scoop when it's played. Sure, there are quite a few bombs out there that generally cause scoops, but this one actually states that the opponent loses if they don't risk one of their cards.

This card actually does nothing to help you win. Your actually spending a card to do nothing and gambling with additional ante. It can still pay off if you can get your opponent to think he still has a chance and take the wager, then beat him and get something sweet of the ante.

@TheWrathofShane: No, it can help you win. If you play it as a bluff, your opponent might concede, thinking that you're certain to win anyway even if you aren't.

Another option is to combine this with cards that let you arrange your opponent's library, like Jace, the Mind Sculptor or Sealed Fate; in that case, they're likely to assume you're about to make them ante their most valuable card and will concede immediately unless they're certain they can win. (Note that they have to decide whether to concede or not before they see the card, so this can also be a bluff.)

If you put four in a deck, does that mean you can start with a 56 card deck

Looks like an Un-set, at least art and name wise.

I remember the days of ante. I won a lot of cards but i never even knew this card was made. I may start to play with ante with my friends now

What's with the oracle? It CLEARLY states if opp doesn't concede the game immediately. Meaning you have the option to say F the common that's in the ante, I'll cut my losses and he/she can keep the $.02 card.
