Back when I started playing casual in 1999 or so, this card was a staple. It hasn't aged well, although the art by the wondrous Rebecca Guay still looks pretty swell. Great Sable Stag blows this out of the water, although the stag isn't an elf, and it is more mana intensive. I guess the most comparable thing nowadays would be the recent Centaur Courser, which is also a common. There has definitely been some power creep in the past 10 years.
