works nice against "modern" non-wall defenders and cards that prevent the targeted creature from attacking like Blazing Archon, Cage of Hands/Cessation, Ghostly Prison, ect.

One of my favorite casual decks used 3 cards to control opponents creatures. Icy Manipulator,Royal Assassin, and Nettling Imp. Any 2 of these cards in play combined to kill most any creature.

Use with anything that taps out stuff for an easy Royal Assassin kill. Speaking of which, you get the same basically in a more splashable form, so it's an ok card.

I love old wording... telling you what you "should" do. Also, apparently you can "play" a "tap" in the old rules. Good stuff.
