Tims were first. Pinging used to be blue. They were called Tims, after this guy in particular.

@ohcrazyone: The two aren't really comparable at all. Blightspeaker is a two-drop, this is three. Blightspeaker is loss of life, this is damage. Because it's damage, this can hit creatures. Blightspeaker has a second ability which is totally unrelated.
