Strictly better than regular Squire.

Seems like it would be good to use with sacrificed artifacts, such as:
Well, Black Lotus yes.
Lotus Petal or Lotus Bloom might be more realistic for most of us.
There are 10 Spellbomb cards that would work nicely such as Pyrite Spellbomb. (just search 'spellbomb' to see the others)
Many other good choices:Engineered Explosives, Tormod's Crypt, Lantern of Insight, Synod Sanctum, Welding Jar, Wanderer's Twig, Expedition Map, Chromatic Star, and Executioner's Capsule just to name some possibilities.

I like this card with Wayfarer's Bauble, Brittle Effigy, Voyager Staff and Shield Sphere.

Not saying this is in any way a good use of the card, BUT think this + Black Lotus
Turn 1, drop BL, sac for 3, drop this cat (hahaha) and return it to drop black lotus and sac again. Play your land and tap it. 5 open mana of any color and a 2/2 creature. Kinda cool idea? Ish?

Personally i like to use this and sac Ashnod's Transmogrant responding to it´s own ability to turn it into a kind of cybercat.

Comboing one of these with a Black Lotus is a god idea, but you're not thinking big enough. You need to combo four of these with a black lotus. Throw in a land and you've got 8 mana to play with and 8 power in cats turn 1.
No one will ever find a better use for black lotus. Guaranteed. 100%. Totally.
