+1/+0 until end of turn for the demise of a land?
come on, it's just a 2/1 two-drop - they could also have given him +1/+1 counters for the triggered ability instead...

Scapeshift is one of the best ways to use this card, but even with that, he's weak to chump blockers etc.

Wake of Destruction or Volcanic Awakening can work well with it.

It beats Goblin Piker! Maybe you play it with Light of Sanction and Destructive Force?
It seems like this is a card that could pay off if you build around him, since in a multiplayer game it is fairly likely that a turn two Akki Raider followed by a turn 3 Tremble will let you hit someone for 5 or 6. Having said this, land destruction is not a particularly fun deck to play against, and it's harder to pull off in multiplayer, so the most satisfaction you may get is from using an unusual card to kill people.

dont think they were too big on the +1/+1 counter thing unless they were a green dragon or a spirit green. morningtide block had a bunch of colors with +1/+1 counter

I like cards that are in red and strictly better than Goblin Piker. Goblins DO like blowing shit up, so this is also perfectly in flavor.
