Bubble Matrix + this, you can prevent any damage you would take, combos better than a Shaman en-Kor since it only does creatures.

Quite crazy in multi-player game, since the redirection ability doesn't require the source to be targeting you or your creatures.

Combine this card with Kitsune Healer and you can redirect the damage, then prevent all damage that would be dealt to him...FTW.

This guy works rather well with Eight-and-a-half Tails, redirect damage, turn the source white and give Opal-eye prot white.

Yojimbo means body guard. Guards do not attack they protect. It makes perfect sense since hes the kings personal body guard. He would never leave the kings side to attack, he would always be right beside him to guard him.

Seriously, if it was a rare, they could have skipped it. It's weirder that an evergreen keyword (though new) has reminder text while a block-specific mechanic does not, not to mention the semi colon.

Its not just the fact that the defender was given rules text rather than the bushido, but they divided the two with a semi-colon...it just looks silly.
Did this card really need to have Bushido 1? It can't attack with it, and although the +1 power matters the +1 toughness doesn't as much, since this yojimbo can prevent damage dealt to him. It would have saved the awkward formatting issues and made the card just generally a bit simpler (if weaker).
Rants aside, love this guy. A walking sword-wielding fox with a straw bowl on his head! :D

Combos well with various damage redirection cards and is fun for casual.
Has plenty of flavour.
HOWEVER. Why does he have defender? This seems like a case where the defender ability is completely pointless and only serves to annoy. He is very unlikely to attack anyway, but in those situations, why not let him?
