How come? I attack with Hill Giant and Uthden Troll, you block Hill Giant with War Mammoth and Uthden Troll with Grizzly Bears. I play two False Orders and remove War Mammotyh from blocking. After I regenerate my Uthden Troll you are down two life and a Grizzly Bear, I'm down one card.

This card should be reprinted. Now that banding has gone foe good thios is nice little combat trick that doesn't cause any rules problems.

Good point about the interactions with Banding, which probably explains why this card was removed from print. I do miss quality red combat tricks. It seems these days all red gets is lousy buff instants that nobody plays.

It seems like the oracle wording lets you use this against attacking creatures to remove them from combat. Certainly that was not the intention behind the original card.

edit: Ah... the oracle text says "... creature defending player controls". Well played Oracle.

It's original useage was to force a creature to block one of your attackers but that capability has since been lost due to incorrect errata.

@Aarontech
This should work if you opponent chooses not to block at all, and force them to block.

Overall a passable combat trick. Can use it to sneak an attack through or take out a weaker creature.

I like how the original text makes this do absolutely nothing.

A devastating Red instant in it's time, another victim of power-creep today. I love this card and am going to buy an Unlimited play set. it will cost me $0.96.

Sad days indeed...

PS~This is pretty much the Fight and Fear mechanics all for 1 CMC, amirite?

A great card flavorwise. Unfortunately, forcing creatures not declared as blockers to block was never a part of intended functionality (see original text "play after defender has chosen defense," though that would have greatly increased the utility of the card. Still, can shift a blocker from a non-Trample/Deathtouch/whatever attacker to the Trample/Deathtouch/whatever attacker, or remove a Deathtouch/Venom/Infect blocker entirely.
