Something else which may seem ovious to some, but should be mentioned:
This card never deals damage. It causes OTHER cards to deal double damage, which can make it invaluable in fights which involve protection or other color-mechanics.

So, that new Borborygmos Enraged fellow in Gatecrash. Think about it.
EDIT: Silly me, you don't really need to think about. Just laugh and smile.

@Donovan_Fabian:

To... well, all previous commentors: Overblaze is one of the most dangerous cards in the game, with an almost endless list of possible cards to combo it with. The best part is that you can even just throw it on a regular creature to double its damage and pump it up just enough to finish a big opposing creature or one of your opponents. Chandra Nalaar is a particularly potent combo, as Donovan_Fabian noted, because by default, she does 10 damage to an opponent and everything he or she controls--enough to hurt that opponent and kill off most creatures in the game. However, having played games where creatures can easily get big enough to survive, doubling that damage is a very strong move, assuming your opponent survives, anyways (another common occurrence for me). And when comboed with Heartless Hidetsugu, anyone with odd life is down to 1, and anyone with even life is dead. Another advantage is that you can cast in on cards your opponents control--at one point, I wa... (see all)

It works with Heartless Hidetsugu... unfortunately, it also kills you.

@ninjaboy05 - If it does, it's a good way to clear out your opponent's hand and drop their life total (if they have 20 life and 4 cards, they're done); the only problem I see is using it against an opponent that has very few cards.

Conspire it with Wort, the Raidmother.

How about using it on Megrim with a Pain Magnification on the board. Then hit the opponent with a Lightning Bolt. In theory the Overblazed Megrim should trigger the Pain Magnification.
