This card is now sort of obsolete thanks to Mirrodin Besieged's Lead the stampede. Unless you have loads of mana, which in most cases you won't, this card isn't worth it.
Enshrined Memories forces you to REVEAL X cards, potentially revealing cards that you don't want to your opponent(s) to see. Yes it allows you to pay any amount for X but is it really worth it? You need to pay a total of 6 mana to do the same thing as Lead the stampede. However Lead the stampede doesn't force you to reveal cards, only the ones that you take. In some cases you probably don't want to put certain creatures in your hand unlike Enshrined Memories which forces you to take no matter what. So overall this card got its usefullness toned down by Mirrodin Besieged's card(plus the card is a uncommon too!)

Combo with myojin of life's web. Both very fine cards in Elder dragon highlander format. This can net you a lot of card advantage.

Kind of different but Green Sun's Zenith matches up favorably as well I think. Same cost, but tutors creature and puts it into play, over getting them in your hand. Lead the stampede is the best comparison.
