It's not "fight" because they deal their damage at different times before the ability is done resolving. Matters for things like Wither and Infect that alter the power of creatures.

Bloodshot Cyclops is a Fling effect, Karplusan Yeti has an Arena effect, so the Cyclops is not actually a better choice, it's a completely different choice.
